13th Aug Update: There is a third private server which is in Korean. (NEW LINK)
So, within just 1 week from the release of the codes, there are already 2 private servers for Unlight (Web version). They are:
Since the game is now open-sourced, both the servers are legal. Both of them are developed by the same programmer (LINK to his SNS). The first one is maintained by the programmer himself, while the second one is maintained by a group of fans (LINK to their fan page). The two servers operate separately.
For those who want to test your luck in the Darkroom, the first server allows you to generate infinite Draw Tickets when you fill in the form on the right-hand side of the game page (only your login name is required), while the second one gives you 100-or-so Tickets when you create your account, and have a better pool of items in the Darkroom.
However, it is important to note that both of them are just in their beta test stage, and all players’ information will be wiped out after that (for the second server, it will end within 1 week). Both servers contain a lot of known bugs, and the aforementioned programmer said that he is not going to fix them at the moment since he’s going to focus on the server stability and the WebSocket version of the game in order to allow an HTML5 version, if there would be any, in the future.
Some of the known bugs in both servers:
- Rewards from achievements (new character cards from reaching Lv3 etc.) are not properly awarded.
- Cutscenes after completing a quest area are not displayed properly. (Refresh the page if this happens)
- Only the first page of Rare Card stories can be viewed.
- The game being unresponsive after performing an action (using an item, activating a skill, etc.). This may be caused by the server overloading.
No PVP and Raid functions. (Edit: Oh we have both now! Time to fight!)

Some side notes:
- Your game data in the past (what in the Techway’s Facebook version) will not come back. It’s owned by Facebook, not Techway.
- The open-sourced files do not contain Character Voice files since they belong to the respective voice actors’ agencies.
- It’s possible to commission miya and Y (the artist and the story writer of the original game) to continue their works if the private server is actually running in the long terms. Of course, it will come with a price. Personally, I don’t think this will happen soon.
These points are extracted from the newest Unlight (official) Weibo, posted by an (ex-)employee of the company a few days ago. Since this employee is infamous for many things in the past, I’m posting only some of the points from her post that I think is sound.
